The health and wealth at Med-Tech Innovation Expo – TechToday

This year’s Med-Tech Innovation Conference will feature two high-end keynote sessions. With the program now shaping up, we can provide some insight into what to expect on June 5-6 at the NEC.

Following last year’s keynote on The MedTech Strategy, David Lawson, the director of medtech at the Department of Health and Social Care, will revisit the strategy’s launch a year later. On Day Two, Lawson will discuss the progress made so far in the areas of resilience, innovation, enabling infrastructure, and special market topics, aiming for the right product, right price, and right place vision.

This year’s main conference stage will also feature thought leadership on key industry topics with seminars from various organizations covering international trade, diversity in clinical trials, human-centered design, intellectual property, and regional collaboration. Additionally, a sustainability panel will provide insight on reducing carbon footprint challenges.

The Introducing Health-Tech stage will showcase new technological developments, regulatory advice, and practices from consultancies. Experts will address challenges related to the changing regulatory landscape, finding the right notified body, and navigating the approvals process amid MDR and UKCA transitions.

Other sessions will cover testing for medical devices, material selection, challenges and opportunities arising from artificial intelligence, securing funding for research and development, and more.

The Introducing Health-Tech Stage will conclude with PITCH@Med-Tech Innovation Expo, where start-up exhibitors will participate in quick-fire pitches in front of an expert panel of judges.

Med-Tech Innovation Expo will take place on June 5-6, 2024, at the NEC, Birmingham. For the full conference schedule and registration, visit www.med-techexpo.com.
