Rivian customers now have the option to request an adapter to access Tesla’s extensive North American Supercharger network, making it the second automaker to offer this feature after Ford.
The announcement was made on Monday that Rivian will be sending out adapters to Rivian owners, one per VIN, for free starting this spring. It is not confirmed whether there will be a charge for the adapters in the future. Ford was the first to provide adapters for the North American Charging Standard (NACS) at no cost last month, but they will start charging $230 for them after June 30.
R2 SUV will come with a NACS charging port in 2026, while the smaller R3 hatchback will have it at a later date.
