Aspyr Media may have utilized a modder’s work without giving credit for the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was recently released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but has faced criticism due to network issues, game crashes, server limitations, and negative reviews on Steam.
After promising updates for the remastered collection, Aspyr now faces additional controversy as a modder claims their work was used without credit in the PS5 and Switch versions of the game.
The modder, known as iamashaymin, alleges that their mods for the original PC version of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 were featured in the collection but quickly removed by Aspyr.
One of the mods, which reskinned a character, was identified by different attack animations, leading to claims of unauthorized use. Despite capturing evidence before the changes, iamashaymin was not credited for their work in the released versions.
Further evidence of the alleged theft was shared on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing similarities between the modder’s files and the game’s content.
The modder’s frustration with Aspyr’s actions was evident in their social media posts, calling out the studio for using their content without permission.
Aspyr has not yet addressed the allegations made by iamashaymin regarding the unauthorized use of their work.
